the first impression motivation
Ok, fine, I can’t call this the first impression because this task was picked by the context of my circumstances of myself upgrading my computer. But I will frame it as not having picked it myself. LOL
I knew I’d be doing this soon, as one of my good friends lizz has been doing this themselves, and since then I knew that it will be a looming thing for me.
Thing is, this is gonna take. A long time. I mean, usually I knock these out in a week or so, but like…. Oh, this is not gonna be just a week.
Maybe this is just my usual time blindness making everything seem like it’ll take forever, though. I hope. I pray. But I think I am right for once.
I made a whole video with a to-do list, but in short, this is what will entail in this task….
Area 1: My computer, In general
- Figure out how to File Projects
- How to archive or make use of Old Things
- Clean programs I do not use anymore
Area 2: Google Drive
- Archive old stuff and take it OFF gdrive
- Restructure it
- Pictures. (pain point)
Area 3: Future System
- How is each partition (incl external SDD) used
- How is Google Drive used
- Archival processes
Area 4: Everything else
- Bookmarks
- Password Manager
- Stay Tuned For More
the bonus sub-task
As I mentioned at the end of (as of writing, upcoming) video, I decided that since this is a boring task to do, I want to make something of it!
So, I will be extracting bits and things that I think are fun or memorable or [insert significant adjective here] and compile it into a zine! Or a video. Or both. We’ll see.
I’ve got many ideas in my head swirling around, and it is exciting, but I think first I need to. You Know. Get started on this, and then see how it shapes.
To not overwhelm myself too much on “how will this thing be structured” for now I will have a note on Obsidian where I’m just gonna throw whatever I think is notable enough as a “manuscript” for this project. Should be interesting!
