the first impressions
It is SO amusing to me that technically this task is VERY adjacent to socialize for collaborations* but unlike whatever THAT ended up being, I feel like this task is something I look forward to. In my video beginning the task, I even said I was /excited/. I mean, in some ways I think I overestimated the excitement, I just was relieved and I chalked it up to feeling excitement.
BUT. I do not mean to say I am feeling bad about this. Not at ALL.
Recently, having had to especially WRITE a ton about MYSELF (awful, truly awful) I am faced with the truth that I can’t articulate myself well.
I’ve also realized, that I’ve not really asked for hard constructive feedback on my portfolio site or anything. I think that could be very helpful!
I do realize that I should specifically try to reach out to people for some guidance and mentorship. So let’s do it!

* btw, I swear this is NOT scripted!!! HAHA I did randomize my written tasks when I assigned numbers to them and it just happened to have socialization adjacent tasks next to one another. And then my friends picked them side by side. Dang.
the conclusion
There is no intermissions here because honestly the video experience was much more accurate to what was going on there.
However! I think the videos don’t really do the experience justice. So, I had a session with a mentor on ADPlist and I had a really good chat about things. And, honestly, it was just really great to know that someone is out there trying to help me out in this cold harsh world.
But that wasn’t the end of it, obviously. I will meet with my mentor more and keep working at it, so yay!!! I look forward to it. Frankly, I’ve just been very busy with other things since finishing this task, so I just haven’t had the time, but I think it will be a good thing.
Plus, I always work better with deadlines.
Maybe I will come back to this note and update it later as time goes on, as frankly even if this task is complete it will be ongoing for a while, as it goes.
